The aim of jo[urn]ey is to remind us of the transience of life. Not to depress us, but rather to help us to consciously spend our time in the here & now. The vessel is made of unglazed porcelain. The raw, softly sanded surface and the timeless formal language should be able to withstand future trends. The material of the base, however, is customizable.
jo[urn]ey is not only an aesthetic object in itself, but reminds us with its presence of the moment when we recognized that life is precious and can be over at any time. It puts problems into perspective and contributes to a fulfilled life, until it finally changes its form forever into a cremation urn when turned upside down.
